Both teams to score at New York City vs Atlanta United 8/11 for Sunday’s MLS matchup

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 8/11 @

Two sides who will be looking to pick up an early advantage when the MLS play-offs get underway, New York will host Atlanta on Sunday night.

Starting with the hosts, although New York might have signed off their regular-season run with a tough meeting against Philadelphia on home soil, Ronny Deila s side put in a rugged display. Picking up a deserved 1-1 draw, despite having to play the majority of the game with 10-men, the Eastern Conference outfit have impressed many at the back end of the campaign. Landing a thumping 3-1 win away at Inter Miami prior to the international break, the Sky Blues have also continued to shine with their performances in the final third. Storming their way to a 6-0 romp against DC United at Yankee Stadium on October 24th, New York have managed to find their best at a perfect time. Desperate to pick up an early advantage on Sunday night, they will also be boosted by the fact that they have landed back-to-back wins the last time Atlanta have come to town.

As for the visitors, while Atlanta might have opened the 2021 campaign in the midst of a woeful run of form, the former MLS champions have managed to find their feet under new boss Gonzalo Pineda. Eventually managing to secure themselves another play-off spot, the Five Stripes were last seen signing off their regular-season run with a 2-1 win away at Cincinnati. Unbeaten in each of their last six contests, a run that stems back to October 3rd, the Georgia-based outfit have also impressed with their displays on the road. Including that deserved victory at the TQL Stadium earlier in the month, Pineda s men collected seven points from their last three matchups on their travels. It should be noted, with four of Atlanta s last five MLS matchups finishing with both teams finding the net, we re backing a similar outcome here.
