Competition: Premier League
Market: Watford to beat Huddersfield
Odds:
England s top league is back for another weekend of action as the festive period provides no rest in the hectic calendar of football. Every single team in the competition is desperate to pick up as many points as possible over December, which means a loss today could be hugely damaging to how well an outfit does across the month. With all of this in mind, Watford face Huddersfield on Saturday.
Watford have been one of the surprise packages of the season and they are looking to enter 2018 in as high a position as possible. They are currently in ninth in the league with 22 points, nine short of Liverpool in the last European place. More importantly though is the fact they are e…
Arsenal have called for refereeing standards to be addressed and thrown their support behind manager Mikel Arteta’s after he branded the VAR decision not to rule out Anthony Gordon’s match-winner at Newcastle “an absolute disgrace”.

Gordon’s controversial goal secured a 1-0 victory for Newcastle and ended Arsenal’s 10-game unbeaten Premier League start.

Manchester City are concerned their good faith in UEFA s investigation into their financial affairs could be misplaced following reports the Premier League champions are facing a one-year ban from the Champions League.
UEFA launched a formal investigation into City in March following allegations made by German publication Der Spiegel that the club breached its Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.
The claims were based on documents purportedly obtained by whistleblowers Football Leaks.
City, who secured their fourth Premier League title in eight seasons against Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday, welcomed the investigation as an opportunity to bring to an end the speculation resulting from the illegal hacking and out of context publication of City emails .

Those are the words of Tottenham Hotspur forward Fernando Llorente, who has revealed that he would like to return to Athletic Bilbao before he retires. The 34 year old spent a big chunk of his professional career with the club, joining their youth team in 1996 before eventually leaving in 2013 in favour of a switch to Italian champions Juventus. Since then he’s also played for Sevilla and Swansea City, before enjoying a slight resurgence with Spurs.
The majority of players who come through the system at Bilbao often speak of their desire to return one day, and whilst he’s playing good fo…
Outgoing Manchester City veteran Yaya Toure jokingly said he hates Nemanja Matic after he described the Manchester United midfielder as his toughest opponent.
Toure will depart Premier League champions City at the end of the season, which leaves the 34-year-old midfielder with only two more matches before his farewell.
The Ivory Coast international – winner of three Premier League titles – arrived from Barcelona in 2010 and came up against a host of stars in England but none tougher than towering former Chelsea midfielder Matic.
Toure, who plans to stay in the Premier League next season, said: I hate him, this b******!
He s such a difficult player to play against. Tall and strong as well. It s been fun to play against him, even though it s difficult.…
